Beginning 1st November 2022, travellers at entry and exit point between Labuan and Sabah are required to go through Immigration inspection at Labuan International Ferry Terminal and Labuan International RORO Ferry Terminal.

This is inline with the need to enhance security and border control enforcement of Sabah state as per Minister of Home Affairs instruction during his visit to Labuan on 10 September 2022. This order meet the request of Sabah State government to enforce Immigration check towards visitors and travellers entering Sabah from Federal Territory of Labuan.
Where is the Immigration Checkpoint
Checkpoint for traveller from Labuan F.T. to Jesselton Point Jetty (Kota Kinabalu) and Tanjung Pagar Jetty (Sipitang) is at Labuan International Ferry Terminal.
Checkpoint for traveller from Labuan F.T. to Menumbok Jetty is at Labuan International RORO Ferry Terminal and Labuan International Ferry Terminal.
Checkpoint for traveller from Menumbok Jetty to Labuan F.T. is at Menumbok Jetty.

Who will be affected
All travellers will go through Immigration check to enter or exit between Labuan F.T. and Sabah State. Travellers whom denied entry or exit under the order of Sabah State authorities is required to apply release letter (Surat Kemudahan Pelepasan).
Some exemption will be granted to Malaysian citizen who is residing in Labuan and commuting daily to Sabah State for working purpose.
